Meet the person first.
I'm Logan Williamson, a Licensed Professional Counselor. I have been seeing clients since 2005 and licensed since 2010. Clients who have tried therapy before often tell me our work feels different. I think it comes down to two habits: I ask what it is like to be you, and I am not shy about sharing my impressions.
I have seen this work from
every seat in the building.
My career ran through Denver and New Orleans before bringing me back to Texas in 2023. In Denver I was a therapist at Knippenberg, Patterson, Langley & Associates and a consultant at Denver Academy, a school built for students who learn differently. In New Orleans I worked in the University Counseling Center at Loyola, then in integrated behavioral health at Daughters of Charity, now Ascension DePaul Services. I served as Executive Director of the Chartwell Center, a school for autistic children that is now part of Easterseals Louisiana. I also spent six years on the board of the Jefferson Parish Human Services Authority, including one term as Vice-Chair and one term as Board Chair.
That range matters. I have sat with the kid at the desk, the adult in the office, the family at the kitchen table, and the board deciding what services exist at all.
Twenty years in schools, clinics, and boardrooms, and people still surprise me.
Because someone should ask.
The people I see are the ones who worked it out alone. They read the rooms, built the systems, held the jobs, and kept the cost to themselves. Somewhere in twenty years of schools, clinics, and boardrooms, I noticed that nobody was asking these people what all that managing was costing them. I decided to be the one who asks.
I am curious about people, and that is not a nicety. In the therapy room it does real work: curiosity is what turns an intake into a conversation, and it does more heavy lifting in session than any technique I know. So that is me: direct, warm, and curious about how you got this far.
