Individual Therapy

Therapy to brighten
your star.

Most of my clients are professional adults with ADHD, autism, or both, often carrying anxiety or depression alongside. Brightening your star is not about becoming someone else. It is about clearing what has been dimming a light that is already yours. You do not need a diagnosis to start, or your problems sorted into categories before you arrive. Sorting them out is part of the work, and I am good at it.

In session

Active is the word clients use most.

I am an active therapist. Good science starts with observation, and so does good therapy: I ask questions because I am curious about how things work for you, and I share my impressions because you are paying me for more than an hour of eye contact. Some sessions are practical: we take a problem from your week, pull it apart, and build something you can test before we talk again. Others are for the heavier material, and we give that the room it needs. The same hour holds both, whichever week you are having.

You can jump topics. You can circle back. You can start in the middle. I am used to minds that move, and I can hold the thread while yours does what it does. You never have to apologize here for how your brain works.

A tool you understand is a tool you keep.

Approach

Loyal to what works,
not to one model.

I trained in the core clinical models, cognitive behavioral therapy and family systems among them, and I read well past them. I weave what works from each together with ideas from neuroscience and other disciplines, because understanding why something works is what makes the change last. When I hand you a strategy, you will know what it is doing and why it fits your brain in particular. A tool you understand is a tool you keep.

Who it's for

Capable and struggling
are not opposites.

The people I work with are, on the whole, good at their lives: careers, families, responsibilities held up over years. Some have been open about being ADHD or autistic for a long time. Some are just starting to wonder. Some have a diagnosis, some never bothered, and some were told years ago that they were fine. What they share is that something is costing more than it should, and they are done paying full price for it.

If that is you, this practice was built for you. And if things have already come apart somewhere, that is not disqualifying. We start where you are.

The practical part

Simple, and on purpose.

I do not bill insurance directly. You pay me, and if your plan allows out-of-network reimbursement, I provide a superbill you can submit. This keeps the treatment decisions between the two of us: no diagnosis required to start, no outside party deciding how many sessions your life is worth, and your records stay with me. If you want help figuring out what your plan reimburses, ask. I have walked plenty of people through it.

You worked out the route without a map.

That got you this far, which says something about you. But nobody explores alone on purpose. The first consultation is free, by phone or video, and the only goal is to see whether we fit. What is the problem you would hand over first?
